About Český Krumlov: the back story

The Historic Centre of Český Krumlov, in a bend of the Vltava in South Bohemia, has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 1992; its castle and painted tower rise above the old town. It is a long day from Prague: many visitors stay a night.

Getting there

The town and the castle

The castle (zamek-ceskykrumlov.cz) and the town (ckrumlov.info, the official tourist information).

Český Krumlov is a long day trip: consider staying the night.

Our advice: stay the night, and see the town in the evening when the day visitors have gone.
