About Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square was laid out when Charles IV founded the New Town in 1348, as the Horse Market. It is 750 metres long; the National Museum (1885–1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek’s statue of St Wenceslas (1912) stand at its top, as Prague City Tourism records. A Christmas market runs on its lower part in Advent.
