About Vyšehrad
Vyšehrad, by legend the oldest seat of the Czech princes, was in fact settled in the mid-10th century. On its rocky promontory above the river stand the Romanesque Rotunda of St Martin, the neo-Gothic Church of Sts Peter and Paul and the Slavín cemetery; the casemates beneath hold some of the original Baroque statues from Charles Bridge. The grounds are open all year; the site is open daily 10:00–18:00, says Prague City Tourism.
