About National Theatre
The National Theatre, built with funds from a nationwide collection, opened in 1881 and, after a devastating fire, again in 1883; its decoration is the work of 19th-century Czech artists including Aleš, Ženíšek, Hynais and Myslbek. While the New Stage is renovated, the main box office is at Ostrovní 225/1 (Prague City Tourism); tickets also on narodni-divadlo.cz.
