About Strahov Monastery and Library
Strahov Monastery, founded in 1140, is the oldest Premonstratensian monastery in Bohemia. Its library keeps medieval manuscripts, maps and globes in the Baroque Theological Hall and the frescoed Philosophical Hall; the Strahov Gallery shows Gothic, Rudolfine, Baroque and Rococo painting. Open daily 9:00–17:00 (tickets until 16:00), says Prague City Tourism.
